This is the privacy notice for salaryacademy.com and the materials sold through it. The short version: the only personal data Salary Academy ever sees is an email address you've voluntarily given us, and we don't share it with anyone.
What we collect
One thing, in one situation: your email address, when you enter it to download the free 10 Hard Questions PDF. That form is hosted by Gumroad, and Gumroad delivers the file to you. We can see the list of email addresses that have requested the PDF.
If you buy any of the paid materials (Starter, Standard, or Complete), the transaction is handled entirely by Gumroad. Gumroad processes your payment, sends you the receipt, and handles refunds. Salary Academy sees the same things any digital seller sees on Gumroad: your email, the date of purchase, and which tier you bought. We do not see your card details, billing address, or any other payment information.
Outside of those two paths, this site does not collect personal information.
Cookies and tracking
The website itself sets no first-party cookies. The site loads two third-party services in the page:
- Cloudflare, which hosts and protects the site. Cloudflare may set technical cookies for bot-detection and DDoS protection. Cloudflare's privacy policy is at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
- Plausible Analytics, an EU-based, privacy-friendly analytics tool. Plausible does not set cookies, does not store IP addresses, and does not track visitors across other sites. It tells us anonymous things like which pages get the most visits and where traffic comes from. Their privacy notice is at plausible.io/privacy-focused-web-analytics.
The site loads fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com). This is a font-delivery service, not an analytics product, and we don't share any data with it.
What we do with your email
If you've given us your email through the free download, we may use it to send occasional updates about Salary Academy, including new materials and writing. Each email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and we honor it immediately. We don't sell, rent, or trade email lists. We don't share your email with any third party except the email-delivery service that physically sends the messages (when that service is set up, we'll update this notice with its name).
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- Tell you what data we hold about you (it's the email and, if applicable, the list of purchases on Gumroad).
- Delete your data from our systems.
- Unsubscribe from emails. The link is in every message; you don't need to ask.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days, in practice within a few business days.
If you're in the EU, UK, or California
The processing of your email constitutes the controller-processor relationship described in GDPR and CCPA. Salary Academy acts as the data controller for the email address you've given us; Gumroad acts as a data processor for transactional purposes. The lawful basis we rely on for sending you emails is your consent, given when you submitted the form. You can withdraw that consent at any time without affecting access to any materials you've already purchased.
Changes to this notice
If this notice changes, we'll post the new version here with a fresh effective date. For material changes (anything that meaningfully affects how your data is used), we'll also email any current subscribers.
